The Connecticut Whalers and Met New York All-Stars met up over the weekend, with the Whalers coming away with a couple of convincing victories.

The Whalers defeated the MetNY side 78-0 in the 1st-15 game.

Wing Nick Martschenko, prop Aidan Byrne, flanker Magnus Smail, lock Teo Ballerio, wing Finn Mulcahy, and prop Jon Kubie all scored tries in the first half to stake the Whalers to a 43-0 lead.

Scrumhalf Santi Flynn added four conversions.

In the second half, back Tommy Hawkins came off the bench to score two. Smail added his second, while lock Dylan Stanton and front-rower Will Kelly also added tries.

Hawkins converted his second try, Flynn converted his first, and Mika Israel came off the bench to kick the other three as Connecticut scored 12 tries.

In a third half in which the Whalers fielded a 2nd team and MetNY afforded their reserve players more time, Hawkins made it a four-try day with two scored in this period. Flanker Blake Cortell also scored twice, and Israel, playing flyhalf, converted all four as the Whalers team won 28-0.
