Midwest Tourney Offers Girls Teams First Games of 2021
The Midwest Girls HS tournament was held this weekend in Elkhart, Ind. with eight clubs and schools playing in two brackets.
In the Top Tier, Catholic Memorial and Divine Savior Holy Angels played their first games since the fall of 2019 (Wisconsin girls teams play in the fall). They took on Carroll and Penn HS. Both Wisconsin teams won their games. Catholic shut out Penn 62-0 and beat Carroll 65-5. DSHA recorded two shutouts, 12-0 over Carroll and 91-0 over Penn HS.
In the Open/JV Division, Perrysburg looked very good with shutouts of Noblesville 62-0 and DSHA JV 57-0. Brookfield also took two victories, beating Fort Wayne 44-5 and Noblesville 63-0.
Fort Wayne adged DSHA/s JVs 15-10, and a combined Amherst/Catholic Memorial team beat Carroll's JV 30-5.
Rain slowed down the early games but as the weather cleared up the games opened up.
