MAC Sets Imposing Schedule
The Mid American Collegiate Conference has set its schedule for the fall of 2021, with a couple of changes in the lineup of teams to add to the mix.
Miami University, which has struggled over the last couple of years, has moved to DII as the program looks to rebuild. Meanwhile, Pitt, a strong DII team for some times, is moving up from DII into the MAC. This remains a hugely competitive conference, with perennial favorites Bowling Green, their chief rivals, Western Michigan, the ever-improving Louisville, and relative newcomers (joining in 2019) IUPUI.
Remember also that WMU made the national fall DIAA final in 2019, and Bowling Green won the DIAA Fall Championship in 2018.
These teams, however, have had a tough time during the COVID shutdown. They are all club programs and recruiting depends heavily on having a presence on-campus.
As a result, this conference is potentially wide open. with Cincinnati, Dayton, and Ohio all also able to surprise.
These teams will end their fall woth a conference playoff and then an end-of-fall challenge match/bowl game event, probably in collaboration with the SCRC.
