Loggers Girls Name Coaching Staff
SEATTLE, Wash. - Rugby Washington (Rugby WA) has announced the complete staff for the 2015-2016 Girls High School Loggers All-Stars program. Led by Head Coach Sharon Blaney, two-time World Cup USA Lock, the leadership group of Kellen Gordon, Carly MacKinnon, Marty Quick, and Carrie White will be looking to continue the development of the female rugby athletes in Washington State.
The program is known for its consistent performance on the regional and national stage for 15s, including winning the Varsity title in the 2015 Great Northwest Challenge, and is off to a competitive start in 7s after the foundation was laid in its inaugural year at the 2015 Las Vegas 7s Invitational. The coaches are eager to lead the athletes in sessions focused on developing individual player skills, the teams into tournaments that will grant them both exposure to collegiate and age grade coaches, and create for all players involved a positive and safe environment. Our goals are not only to perform at the program’s highest potential, but also to elevate the standard of girls rugby in the Northwest as a whole.
The first assembly for all interested players will be on December 6th at Magnuson Park. Players from all Rugby WA clubs are encouraged to attend the camps and try out for the tournament teams. All program camps and trainings will be open to parents and coaches for observation but it is requested that they remain on the sidelines during the sessions. Registration information will be sent out to parents, players, and coaches next week. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact Sharon Blaney at sblaney22@gmail.com.
