Idaho Boys HS Final Set
Idaho Boys HS Final Set
The Idaho Boys HS final is slated for this weekend with annual rivals Capital HS and Mountain View ready to face off once more.
Capital booked their spot with a convincing 47-12 victory over North Idaho in this past weekend’s semis. For Mountain View, undefeated in league play this year, their semi was much, much closer. The defending champs beat Rocky Mountain, but the 24-22 scoreline was too close for comfort. Mountain View was down at halftime playing into a stiff wind.
“They had a very good center who made our backline look terrible,” said Mountain View Coach Hamish Bell. “We changed the game plan at halftime to keep the ball in the pack and use the wind for field position.”
That worked. The Mountain View forwards battled, despite three yellow cards and the team being down to 13 players at one point. Shorthanded already, they just got by.
“Rocky Mountain really wanted the win and played like they wanted it,” said Bell. “It was a good test and gives us lots to work on this week.”
Mountain View and Capital met April 25 with Mountain View winning 22-13.
