Herbst Out of Hospital, Enters Rehab Following Injury

With his loved ones at his side and with support from the people at Walsh, Herbst slowly recovered, albeit with the odd setback. Last week he was able to leave the hospital under his own power, ringing the bell at the ward to celebrate this big step. He was applauded by the staff at the hospital.

Herbst has now returned to Cleveland—Walsh Director of Rugby Jason Fox and his wife, Cindy, flew out to Las Vegas to escort him home. In Cleveland Herbst will enter a rehab program through Metro Health Medical Center, which has a very strong Neuro-Physical Therapy program.

Because he is young and in good overall health, Herbst is expected to make a full recovery. But it will take time. Reports are that he is determined to get back to 100% as quickly as possible.

However, it is unclear whether he will be able to coach the Walsh team. Walsh University has posted the opening for the Head Coach job here>>

What could well happen is that Fox will be retiring as Director of Rugby, a new Head Coach will be signed this spring, and Herbst, if possible, will join as an assistant.

For now, the main information is that Stephan Herbst is recovering, and that is definitely good news.
