Harvard University men's rugby will be hiring a new, full-time Head Coach in 2023.
Backed by an alumni group (Friends of Harvard Rugby FC LLC), and with the cooperation of the University's Athletic Department, the 150-year-old Harvard Rugby Club is looking to take the next step with a full-time paid Head Coach.
While the women's Harvard rugby program is a full NCAA Varsity team, the men's rugby team will remain a club. However, after some years of work (and some delays) the system is in place to get a full-time coach at the helm.
The position will be a full-time salary commensurate with qualifications and will include health insurance. The successful candidate will be expected to lead the team a competitive position in the Ivy League and in Conference play, with an eye toward national prominence (note that Brown recently won the NCR D1 championship). The coach will also serve as the primary liaison with various university departments and personnel.
The job will also entail all of the coaching and culture development expected of a Head Coach on a serious collegiate rugby team, coordinating with the club leadership, University, and other stakeholders, assisting in fundraising and alumni outreach, and networking with the broader rugby community.
