Granite Bay Wins Big Over Solo
Granite Bay logged an emphatic victory over the weekend in Northern California's Boys HS Premier league, defeating the Solo Falcons 61-5.
Solo had the size advantage and were physical in contact, but struggled to maintain possession, and that's where the Grizzlies hurt them. Granite Bay had a good attack out wide and a shutout defense in the second half.
GB scored two quick tries with outside center Brett Lindsay and wing Garrett Curtis. Solo took advantage of GB penalties and attacked up the middle with prop George Raymond for a try. GB wing Andrew Martinez scored in the left corner and fullback Drew Sanderson scored after a break on the outside before the half ended.
Flanker Alex Evans, replacement outside center RJ Dumke, Drew Sanderson, and flanker Zane Mosher all scored tries to extend the Granite Bay lead. Replacement No. 8 Dante Bandoni, RJ Dumke, and inside center Jamil Williams all scored late tries for Granite Bay.
