Granite Bay to 2-0
Granite Bay moved to 2-0 in the Northern California Varsity Premier with a 30-19 defeat of Mother Lode.
Flyhalf Desi Streater continues to have a strong season, and he scored two tries. Big forward David Hall scored a nice try set up by Justin Oles, who shredded the defense before offloading.
Jon Rogers scored a try on a nice little run and added two penalties, while Granite Bay captain Jake Van Order was named player of the game for his defensive work.
Mother Lode continued to play hard throughout the game and scored two tries late in the second half to put them within a score of a couple of bonus points. Mother Lode was led by No. 8 Skyler Mitchell and scrumhalf Garrett Shepard.
“We still have a lot of work-ons and a very tough schedule ahead of us,” said Granite Bay Head Coach Jason Divine. “But we enjoy difficult challenges.”
