Graduate Rugby Assistant Positions Open at McKendree University
McKendree University Rugby is looking to sign on two graduate assistant coaches to assist with their varsity rugby teams.
The graduate assistants will work with both the men's team and the women's team, assisting the Head Rugby Coach in matters that relate to both programs.
Tasks include, but are not limited to, planning practices, monitoring of academic progress of student-athletes, recruiting, fundraising, and travel.
Successful candidates should have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and acceptance into a Master’s program at McKendree University is required.
The call for graduate assistants is also an indication that the McKendree rugby programs are gaining steam.

Interviews will begin immediately. Interested candidates should send a email with a resume/CV and contact information for three professional references to the Director of Rugby, Cam Wyper, at clwyper@mckendree.edu. Wyper was named Head Coach of both the men's team and the women's team earlier this month. Wyper played professionall in Scotland, Spain, and Australia, and coached Grand Canyon University from 2016-2019.
McKendree is entering its second season of collegiate rugby in the 2021-22 school year. In their first season of competition in 2020-21, the men posted 12-5-1, including winning the Survivor Bracket of the season-ending Collegiate Rugby Championships in New Orleans, La., while the women went 5-0 in the team's inaugural campaign.
