Here’s a list of some of the HS boys players who had a big game or key plays in the past week or so.

Sitama, Budd Bay

Lui Sitama, Budd Bay, Wash.

The Budd Bay Barbarians fullback was a force on counter-attacks, scored, kicked goals, and helped negate the Kent kicking game as Budd Bay defeated Kent to make the Washington state final.

Elijah Hamilton, South Doyle, Tenn.

The senior hooker helped propel South Doyle to a state championship by continually stealing opposition put-ins at scrum time, and also was all kinds of help defensively as he roamed the field making tackles and forcing turnovers.

Longinus Nnodim, South Greenville, SC

The sub prop helped inject some much-needed power and strength in the South Greenville pack and scored the only try of the final against Wando, in overtime, for his team to win 13-6.

William Fonokalafi, Kahuku, Hawaii

The 6-4 flyhalf, originally from New Zealand, was widely acclaimed as the best player in the Pacific Cup, leading a very potent Kahuku offense, and almost getting his side past the #1 club team in the country, Danville.

Lopeti, Liu, Danville, Calif.

The Oaks No. 8 set the tone physically in a war of a Pacific Cup final against Kahuku (won by Danville 8-5). He sealed the game with a key poach in the ruck as Kahuku was going for the winning try. Liu also scored three tries in the NorCal final April 25.

Reggie Corbin, Gonzaga, DC

The DI football recruit scored the try that ensured that Gonzaga would win their conference over a tenacious Georgetown Prep team.

Terry Cullen, Boston College High, Mass.

No. 8 Terry Cullen made several big plays for BC in their final regular-season win to finish 7-0.

Ryan Herberman, East HS, Colo.

The big lock and team captain showed what it means to lead by example and show desire on the field. The second row scored a crucial try for East in the state final, chasing down a kick and just barely getting his hand on the ball in-goal before the defense got there. East beat Regis Jesuit 10-5.

Blake Day, Sam Slivers, Snow Canyon, Utah

The Snow Canyon scurmhalf Day and flyhalf Slivers worked nicely together to lead Snow Canyon to a single-school championship over Herriman. Day was active all day, and Slivers kicked the game-winning penalty with almost no time left.
