Playoffs, tournaments, and big games - it was a busy couple of weeks, and here are some of the players who were hard at work in Boys HS games:
Dalton Hola
The hard-running No. 8 was a central figure in Red Mountain’s playoff win over the Blackbirds in Rugby Arizona’s semis.
Malachi KnoxThe Desert Vista fullback was part of an impressive backline performance that helped direct a semifinal win over West Valley in the Rugby Arizona playoffs. |
Andy Day and Kody Jacobsen
The flyhalf and inside center combined nicely to spark Snow Canyon’s win over the San Diego Mustangs.
Quintavious Turner
The South Greenville prop set the tone from the front in his team’s defeat of South Carolina rivals Wando.
Ian Martinez
In a game that would decide who goes to the Texas playoffs, the Woodlands scrumhalf was brilliant with his passing, smart running, and reading of the game.
George Neithammer
The Jesuit fullback was named back of the game for Jesuit in their 26-24 NorCal semifinal win over Granite Bay.
Mark Lewis
The speedy Gonzaga fullback scored two tries in Gonzaga’s win over Xavier.

The Pelham HS fullback returned to the lineup after injury and scores two tries in a win over Fordham Prep.
Hunter Breit
The Bayou Hurricanes scrumhalf was in control of the pace of the game and was almost perfect in his goalkicking as the Bayous Hurricanes defeated West Jefferson to clinch to top seed in the Deep South.
Niah Vaea
The Herriman center was a big problem for the Olympus defense as Herriman won a crucial game in Utah.
Sean Clark
The Georgetown Prep No. 8 set the go-forward for his team in an impressive win over Good Counsel.
Roman Fisch
The KC Jr. Blues hooker showcased an impressive work rate in doing some of the unheralded work for his team as they won the Heart of America tournament.
Reid Brandt
The Charlotte Catholic center scored four tries in his team’s win over Hough.
Chris Troiano
The BC High forward led from the front as BC High beat Belmont in a crucial easily game, carrying the ball with energy and play good defense.

Holden Kjerland-Nicoletti
Kjerland-Nicoletti scored three tries and was man of the match as East HS of Colorado defeated La Cueva in a trip to New Mexico.
Sekope Latu
With his strong running and accurate goalkicking, Latu was MVP of the Hawaii boys playoffs as he helped Kahuku to the 2016 championship.
Colin Clancy
The Danville flanker was a defensive terror as the Oaks defeated Jesuit in the NorCal Varsity Premier final, roaming through the Jesuit backline and disrupting their attack.
Isaiah Loucks
While Budd Bay lost to Rainier, Loucks was in the middle of every good thing the Rugby Washington team did, scoring two tries and setting up two in a 32-27 defeat to Rainier Highlanders.
EJ Brown
The power-running wing for the Rainier Highlanders was a key attacking option for his team in their win over Budd Bay.
Yoshi Warnock
The Peninsula Green HS All American cast aside tacklers and thundered through for major meters and a try in Peninsula Green’s NorCal DI championship win over CK McClatchy.
Royaal Jones and Sam Houston
In his team’s 48-44 loss to Christian Brothers Academy, Jones scored three tries for Hudson Catholic, and for CBA, Houston scored four tries.
Mica Matua and Kaymahn Siufanua
The halfback combination for United sparked their teams 24-10 win over Snow Canyon in Utah Youth Rugby action.
Benjamin Broselle
The Chuckanut fullback scored four tries in his team’s 71-3 defeat of Kent in Washington.
Daiimon ClevelandAnother speedy fullback getting recognition this week, Cleveland was a try-breaking menace who launched counterattack after counterattack for Fort Hunt in their impressive 3-1 run at the Jesuit Rugby Classic. |
