Here's a look at some of the boys high school players who had a good weekend on the field.

This is just a sample, and we always welcome nominations each week. But these players impressed:

Lukas Lupinski, Charlotte Catholic

Lupinski led a massive forward effort that helps stymie a vaunted Hough defense in a 24-19 win.

Lucas Schiermeyer, Tempe

In Tempe's win over Eclipse, the Tempe center Schiermeyer was a constant danger on attack and also led the defense in the midfield.

Bobby Barrett, Strake Jesuit

Barrett plays second row for Strake and is their captain He anchored a strong forward effort in a win over Faith Family Academy.

Frank Finicle, Jesuit New Orleans

The Blue Jays enjoyed a big win over Hammond HS over the weekend and Finicle, playing lock, pushed them back with multiple powerful carries down the middle, punching holes in the Hammond D.

Kingston Hawkins, Cathedral Catholic

The USA U18 7s player and son of former USA 7s and 15s Eagle Matt, Hawkins has shown classic rebellion by becoming a flyhalf (when his dad was a lock/flanker). His ability to control the field position, run the attack, and take it up himself when needed helped lead Catholic to a big win over La Costa Canyon.

Zach Frender, Marin Highlanders

The Highlanders fullback scored five tries in a win over Elsie Allen in Northern California.

Kai Campbell, Hough Huskies

In a close loss to Charlotte Catholic, Huskies No. 8 Campbell scored all three of his team's tries.

JW Sarkees, Greer

After a season at Nelson College in New Zealand thanks to a US Rugby Foundation scholarship, Sarkees is back at Greer and controlling the narrative. He was an excellent playmaker (USA U18 7s camp invitee) as Greer beat Cape Fear and Wando in two shortened games in South Carolina play over the weekend.

Max Horn, AYR Golden Eagles

In a well-taken road win over Jacksonville, lock and captain Max Horn was inspirational making a series of huge carries that dragged defenders with him and opened up space for the rest of the AYR Golden Eagles attackers to score.
