Gamebreakers in Boys HS Rugby for Feb 1-8

Xavier Ordoniez scores for De La Salle.

We are back looking at top performers in Boys HS rugby around the nation.

Charlie Mohr, Strake Jesuit

The Strake center was mde big meters on his line breaks and also was impressive defensively as his team beat HCYA.

Santiago Casserly, Key Biscayne

In the Rats' win over Okapi White, Casserly was dangerous with ball in hand, set up some other tries, and kicked the conversions, too.

Chris Matthews, Dallas Jesuit

Matthews scored three tries in the Rangers' win over Great Hearts.

Bo Linstroth, Raptors Rugby

The Tennessee club pulled off a well-taken win over AYR Golden Eagles and Linstroth's work in the lineout, winning his own and stealing opposition throws, was a big part of that.

Flynn O'Connell, St. Ignatius SF

The St. Ignatius No. 8 scored three tries in a close loss to Jesuit Sacramento in Northern California action.

Jack Holly, NOLA Jesuit

Another lineout force, Holly stole five lineouts as Jesuit New Orleans beat St. Thomas (Houston).

Xavier Ordoniez, De La Salle

The DLS hooker scored a well-taken try on a grubber-and-chase and set the tone in the front row for the Spartans as they beat St. Francis.

OC Lehner, Bishop O'Dowd

The O'Dowd No. 8 has been in excellent form and he was the co player-of-the-game in a win ver Serra. Lehner continues to score tries and turn heads.

Adrian Stencel, Greer 76ers

The prop led Greer to two more wins over the weekend and set the platform for what has been an undefeated league season so far.

Carter Hofmann, Scottsdale

The captain was a superb leader in a win over Brophy Prep and scored four tries in the game, to boot.

Jameson Beatty, South Meck

Beatty has been outstanding all season and was certainly influential in South Meck's North Carolina single-school league semifinal win over Hough.

Jack McFee and Nolan Winslow, Charlotte Catholic

The two wins for Charlotte Catholic produced huge defensive performances in sending their team to the North Carolina single-school final.

Jose Giuliani, Okapi Wanderers

Playing fullback, Giuliani scored three tries and was excellent in kicking for territory, which all led to a win over Jesuit New Orleans.

Jared Randall, Danville Oaks

Randall scored a try and slotted two conversions in a close win over Marin.

Will Barrett, Torrey Pines

The hard-charging No. 8 waa crucial in helping Torrey Pines come back to tie Cathedral Catholic in a dramatic tie.

Spencer Hundley, Cathedral Catholic

The Cathedral Catholic scrumhalf was at times dominant. He is a very physical #9 and as a result is very difficult on defense and when he runs. He keeps defenders close to the breakdown, allowing more space to show up out wide.
