The Marin Highlanders opened their Northern California season with a fairly emphatic 54-5 win over Elsie Allen.
This wasn't an easy outing by any means but it was made a bit easier thanks to some impressive finishing from fullback Zach Frender.
From the 4th minute to the 50th minute, French was a terror, scoring five tries in that time span. He was impressive on the counter-attack, and also slotted in as a support runner, scoring three tries on the counter and two in other ways.
Before we get too excited about everything, remember this was a preseason matchup and included rolling subs, so it was just a warmup.
But, still Frender showed much in the way of talent, while wing Bear Lions added two tries; prop Miles Kelsey, No. 8 Josh Riley, and flanker Cooper Cannon also touched down.
