College Rugby Association of America has announced its Men's D1A Championship bracket and also its new Challenger Cup bracket.

The Challenger Cup has been introduced this year to offer a postseason for teams that don't quite make the Championship tournament. This year, six teams will participate but there is certainly room for expansion.

Championship Bracket

the seeds for the D1A Championship are created using coaching votes, GRR Rankings, and a mathematical formula that takes into account record and strength of schedule. So you will see a disparity between the GRR Rankings and the seedings, and strength of schedule had a huge influence on that disparity.

The games will be played at the home of the.higher-seed team (unless, by agreement, they decide on a more convenient neutral site), and the final will be held in Indianapolis, Ind. My 3.

As expected, Cal is the top seed in the West, with Saint Mary's #2. Central Washington is #3 and Cal Poly, the upstarts of 2024-25 in the West, will host Arizona in a matchup that hasn't happened this year.

In the East, Life is the #1 seed and #1 ranked overall, with Navy #2. Lindenwood will host auld enemies Arkansas State as the #3 and Army does just enough to earn a #4 seed against the team they were battling with for that spot, Mount St. Mary's.

Challenge Cup

With six teams in the Challenger Cup, two teams will take a bye to the semifinals, set for April 19.

Mary Washington and Grand Canyon get the byes. So the opening round will be Air Force at Ohio State, and UC Santa Cruz at Utah State.

The final will also be held May 3 in Indianapolis.
