After Long Journey, Samoa Arrives
The Samoa rugby team is in town now for the Pacific Nations Cup, but travel hasn’t been an easy thing for the team.
Players tweeted their frustration at the fact that their flights from Apia, Samoa, to San Jose, Calif., took 48 hours, with one 12-hour layover. Meanwhile, team management flew on ahead in First Class.
48 hours Eco travel + sitting around 12h's in transit in Fiji and LAX isn't good enough planning by @WorldRugby with a major Test in 4 days.

But they got there, and got on the field (see photo above) even if their bags took a while.
Most bags have arrived! Finally. Now heading to training. Boys keen to see some grass! #LeManu pic.twitter.com/jpyl6bQhJH

Still the USA rugby fans are excited to see Samoa back in the United States. The two nations have met three times, once in the USA, once in Samoa, and once on neutral ground. All three games have been close Samoa wins - 27-20 in Apia in 1999, 19-12 in San Francisco in 2000, and 25-21 in St. Etienne, France in 2007.
