The Samoa rugby team is in town now for the Pacific Nations Cup, but travel hasn’t been an easy thing for the team.

Players tweeted their frustration at the fact that their flights from Apia, Samoa, to San Jose, Calif., took 48 hours, with one 12-hour layover. Meanwhile, team management flew on ahead in First Class.

USA South A is into the final of the NACRA U19 15s Championships after defeating Barbados 32-7 on Tuesday in Orlando.

In a game delayed by lightning, the South took a 6-0 lead early on thanks to some concerted pressure and two penalty kicks from Arkansas State flyhalf Dylan Boast.

The USA Rugby South A team finally got on the field at the NACRA U19 Championships with a 24-0 shutout of Bermuda.

After some early jitters, the South team dealt with the big, physical Bermuda team. Flanker Brennan Falcon led from the front and inspired the senior South players to front up.

Canada Women Crush Eagles for Pan-Am Gold

Canada dominated the final of the women’s rugby competition at the Pan-Am Games, defeating the USA 55-7.

The Eagles opened the scoring with a nicely-taken long-range try from Kristen Thomas, but after that, Canada controlled all. They poached brilliantly at the ruck, and either re-won their restarts or pinned the USA deep in their 22 and exerted pressure from here.
