North Texas clinched the Southwest Collegiate Conference with a 32-15 win over their closest rivals, Texas State, finishing the regular season 5-0.
League rules automatically award the conference championship to a team that goes undefeated in regular season play.
Texas State drops to 3-2 but keeps 2nd. Texas A&M was also 3-2 after winning big over Rice.
Stephen F. Austin beat Houston 68-24 to improve to 2-3
Both North Texas and Texas State are slated to play in the ACRC Bowls Nov 22 in Charlotte, NC.
