Meanwhile, Lamorinda put in an impressive performance to beat SFGG 30-24.
Lamo led 22-0 led by some excellent work from Oteti Vehikite and Daniel Vete. Three sophomores started for Lamorinda in flanker Liam Varela, lock Zane Saldivar, and scrumhalf Nick Pierson.
Granite Bay logged an emphatic victory over the weekend in Northern California's Boys HS Premier league, defeating the Solo Falcons 61-5.
Solo had the size advantage and were physical in contact, but struggled to maintain possession, and that's where the Grizzlies hurt them. Granite Bay had a good attack out wide and a shutout defense in the second half.
Granite Bay secured a nifty victory in Northern California HS action, beating a very tough CK McClatchy team 38-26.
Granite Bay Head Coach Jason Divine said the game "looked more like a state championship than a season opener."
