It's a bit of a slow weekend in Boys High School rugby as it's Easter Weekend.

Several teams, including Gonzaga (France), St. Ignatius (Japan), Xavier HS (Ireland), Danville (New Zealand), and Granite Bay (England and Wales) are on tour.

Interestingly enough, Granite Bay just played a team that was right near where your fearless GRR editor used to live—Finchley. GB got a big win over Kingwood 82-0, while Gonzaga beat RC Salanois in France 27-20.

Head Coach Peter Baggetta gave us a little insight into the action. They played in the stadium and the whole town turned out to watch, with the band playing and a very impressive post-match reception.

"Probably the best team we have faced this year as their backs were really creative and dangerous with the ball," said Baggetta.

Danville has taken on Bishop Viard and also Rotorua.

Here in the USA, De La Salle at Marin, which is a good all-rankings matchup in Northern California. 

But Southern California has two huge games—Belmont Shore at SOC Raptors and San Diego Mustangs at Thunder Rugby. These games have a direct impact on which of these four teams are going to HS Nationals. Likely there will be three spots available for these teams and you might then think that whichever teams win this weekend would have an inside track on getting a bid. These teams have been so close over the last few years it's hard to make predictions.
