All American Santi Mascolo scored 11 points and four other Gaels scored tries as Iona defeated Indiana 33-5 in a preseason warmup match for both teams.
John Powers, Dioumy Cadet, Jack Brandes, and Michael Hay all scored tries, while Mascolo added a try and three conversions. Powers also converted a try.
IUPUI Stars Strong, Joining MAC
IUPUI opened up its new DI season with a 19-13 defeat of Purdue this past weekend.
Head coach Joe Richards said it was a nice confidence-builder for the program, but not to read too much into the result.
