GRR: Scott LaValla
USA flanker Scott LaValla has confirmed that he is retiring from international and professional rugby.
USA star Scott LaValla has been ruled out of the Rugby World Cup after apparently fracturing his elbow in training.
He has been replaced by Seattle Saracens loose forward Matt Trouville.
Scott LaValla started the Pacific Nations Cup on the bench against Samoa, but quickly re-established himself as a key member of the USA pack, putting in a large number of tackles and generally securing and winning ball.
The USA doesn’t get a full week between games in the Pacific Nations Cup, given that they played on Saturday and now play tonight, the following Friday.
That means that the Eagles has a recovery day on Sunday, and a captain’s run on Thursday, leaving them just Monday-Wednesday for on-field work, and usually there’s time off schedule in that.
Goff Rugby Report editor Alex Goff spoke with USA flanker Scott LaValla this past weekend and the two discussed a variety of topics in this 24-minute interview.
