GRR: Tri-State Conference
National Collegiate Rugby's summer has been marked by a series of women's conferences moving to operating under NCR.
Marist defeated RPI in the final of the Tri-State Conference 7s Sunday in Poughkeepsie, NY.
Marist defended very well and outscored their three pool opponents, Seton Hall, Vassar, and Molloy, 105-5.
Fairfield won Pool B, holding off a determined USMMA in the key game. RPI took Pool C with wins over Hofstra B, WPU/MSU, and SUNY Maritime.
We have some more conference champions in Men's D2 college rugby.
GeorgetownThe Georgetown Hoyas not only won the MARC but won it in impressive fashion 65-19 over Villanova. Considering Villanova had only one opponent get closer than 20 points, that's a big score.
Marist defeated the US Merchant Marine Academy to take control in the Tri-State Men's D2 league.
Marist improved to 4-0 in conference play, and wrapped up a regular-season sweep of Kings Point. The two had met before with Marist edging the USMMA 20-17. This time, it was mostly Marist as the Red Foxes pulled away 51-17.
Marist edged US Merchant Marine Academy 20-17 in what seems to be the meeting of the top two teams in the Tri-State.
