Rutgers, Vassar Prepare for Showdown

It’s been all about the winning at Rutgers, as their women’s team defeated Hofstra on Sunday to improve to 5-0 in the Tri-State South, and drop Hofstra to 4-1.

Head Coach Ken Pape said earlier this season that the program is seriously thinking about moving up to DI, and continued strong performances are how they can get there.

Fairfield Impresses in Opening Weeks

Fairfield University’s torrid start in the Tri State Conference Men’s DII competition has shot them to #13 in the nation, and it could be we will see them move further up, although it won’t be until later in October, when they face NJIT and Molloy.

It could be Fairfield, which has outscored opponents 134-24 in the first two games, will enter those big games undefeated.

Tri-State Teams Rising to Top

Rutgers, Vassar, and Hofstra are all 2-0 in the Women’s DII Tri-State Conference, all with impressive victories in the first couple of weekends.

Certainly there’s a big difference between the top teams and the lower teams in the conference, and it seems that all three 2-0 programs are in the top group.
