The Life University Women's rugby team had a tiring weekend, playing three games in two days over Saturday and Sunday.

This was good practice for the Running Eagles as playoff time comes along, and Life did well, beating South Florida and Florida International on Saturday, and then a Florida Select Squad 47-7 on Sunday.

The four-team meeting of Life, Clemson, Air Force, and Navy finished off Sunday with Air Force and Life coming away victors.

The United States Naval Academy looked impressive in the program’s opening game of 2016.

Playing in a four-game-four-team weekend in Charlotte, NC, Navy used a superior scrum and some excellent defensive pressure to beat Clemson 36-12.

Life University will visit Charlotte this coming weekend to take on Air Force and Navy coming off two games where the Running Eagles scored 195 points.

Head Coach Scott Lawrence is pleased with the opening of the 2016 portion of the season, and while those two blowouts were against well-regarded South Carolina and Clemson, Lawrence dismissed the significance.

Life University followed up their 119-0 defeat of South Carolina with a 76-13 defeat of Clemson Saturday in Marietta, Ga.

The Running Eagles opened up the scoring in the 1st minute, with a try from Zander Van Schalkwyk, and followed that up with a Conner Mooneyham try to make it 12-0. Alex Maughan scored thanks to a nice steal in the breakdown from Marcus Walsh.
