GRR: Life University
Life University will visit Charlotte this coming weekend to take on Air Force and Navy coming off two games where the Running Eagles scored 195 points.
Head Coach Scott Lawrence is pleased with the opening of the 2016 portion of the season, and while those two blowouts were against well-regarded South Carolina and Clemson, Lawrence dismissed the significance.
Life University followed up their 119-0 defeat of South Carolina with a 76-13 defeat of Clemson Saturday in Marietta, Ga.
The Running Eagles opened up the scoring in the 1st minute, with a try from Zander Van Schalkwyk, and followed that up with a Conner Mooneyham try to make it 12-0. Alex Maughan scored thanks to a nice steal in the breakdown from Marcus Walsh.
The fall has been an incredibly exciting season, as teams that have aligned with the varsity and DI Elite leagues have the freedom to book competitive games every weekend. Lindenwood has explored the eastern half of the country, and traveled south to Life University last weekend. The Lady Lions got more than a little pushback from the host, as the Running Eagles won 25-14.
Life University won their first Varsity undergrad game of the 2015-16 school year, weathering a tough first half to defeat Clemson 43-0 at Clemson Friday night.
Clemson hosts Life University this evening (Friday) in the only game for the Life varsity undergraduate team this fall.
