Men DIA Rankings Week 8
Well, it happened, and it happened in a big way. Idle as they are, the top four teams in our rankings are vulnerable to being pushed down by teams that play in the fall.
But the teams in the fall can't just do it on one or two victories; they have to build up a portfolio of results against strong opposition.
High-Rankings Clash Ends Deadlocked
In a bit of a barnburner on Sunday afternoon, Notre Dame College came back from a 16-7 to take the lead only to see Davenport secure a tie in the closing minutes.
This was a crossover meeting between the Rugby East (NDC) and Mid-South (Davenport), with NDC ranked #12 by D1A Rugby and Davenport ranked at #8 after beating Penn State last week.
Navy Over Penn State. Good Enough For Rankings Boost?
Navy put its hand up for some rankings love with an impressive 38-12 defeat of Penn State this weekend.
Navy has beaten seven ranked DIA teams in a row, including two teams that have since done even better—Rugby East champions Kutztown, and Davenport, which has started very well this fall.
Army Comes Back To Beat Mary Washington
West Point moved back to .500 in the Rugby East after a comeback victory over Mary Washington Saturday.
Despite dropping to 0-3, UMW put in a good performance and showed once again how the Mothers belong in DIA.
Liberty Latest: Top Teams Win Again
The top teams led the way in the Liberty this weekend, with Northeastern, Boston College, Syracuse, and Iona all winning.
