The USA Men’s 7s team is in the Cup Quarterfinals of the Dubai 7s despite a difficult hiccup in pool play.

The Americans won their opener against Portugal and then had a horrible start against France, but somehow pulled close enough to make the ensuing upset over New Zealand count for something.

The USA Men's 7s team kicks off its 2015-16 Sevens World Series season tonight.

The USA is in Pool C with New Zealand, France, and Portugal, a pool they should expect to get out of and into the Cup Quarterfinals.

This weekend sees the Tennessee High School 7s championships held at Middle Tennessee State University, with eight teams vying for the title.

As reported by Rugby Today, the CRC 7s has released its list of teams at the main tournament in 2016:

The teams already invited are: Arizona, Arkansas State, Army, Boston College, Cal*, Clemson, Dartmouth^, Drexel, Indiana, Kutztown#, Life, Michigan, Navy, University of Notre Dame, Penn State, South Carolina, St. Joe’s, Temple, UCLA, and Virginia Tech.

The USA men’s 7s team opens up its 2015-16 World Series season in a little more than a day, and it’s an important time for the Eagles.

Coming off a win in the last HSBC Sevens World Series tournament, the United States team won’t be able to sneak by anyone. And at the same time, the Eagles start their series at a tournament that has historically been very difficult for them.
