The Tri-State Rugby Conference was first set-up in 2012-13 when USA Rugby encouraged universities and colleges to form conferences rather than remain part of their Local Area Unions (LAUs). The majority of the collegiate teams that comprised the Metropolitan New York Rugby Union became part of the Tri-State Collegiate Rugby Conference.

Tri-State Men’s Teams

The Conference has a Division III and a Developmental Division. Following regular season games the DIII winner will advance to the National Collegiate Division III postseason.

Tri-State Women’s Teams

The Conference has teams in Division II, the North and South Divisions, as well as a Division III. All have the opportunity to advance in Fall Championships run by National Collegiate Rugby.

Tri State Finalists Set

The Tri-State Conference helds its semifinals Sunday, with one or two surprises.

Women

In New Jersey on Sunday the Fairfield University Women came from behind to tie the game and then in the second period of overtime scored to finish up 29-24. Fairfield will face the Vassar College Women on Saturday in the final. RPI and MSU will match-up for third and fourth place.
