One of the issues within American collegiate rugby, especially past the most elite teams, is how one defines a division.

For much of the history of collegiate rugby, when there’s been a divisional split, what division you’re in depends on you. You basically announce that you’re D1A (if you’re accepted), D1AA, D2, etc.

The SCRC has released its schedules for the fall of 2023.

With the University of Kentucky switching to NCR to join the rest of the league, the scheduling is a little easier and will expand to a consistent five league games per team in DIAA. Auburn has resisted pushes from some quarters to move to DIAA after some success in D2, and the D2 league will remain six teams.

Kennesaw State University men's rugby has named a new Head Coach.

Former Canadian international and Rugby ATL player Matt Heaton will head up the program beginning this coming fall.

Heaton was capped 31 times for Canada and also played for Otley and Darlington in the United Kingdom before joining Rugby ATL in Major League Rugby.

South Carolina and Memphis are now SCRC 7s champions, as each won their divisional tournament in the conference championship.

D1

It was a solid showing for the Gamecocks, and a dramatic one as the USC players needed two late tries to edge Tennessee 26-24.

USC led 14-7 at halftime but three Tennessee tries put the Volunteers up 24-14.
