Lake Travis has had to work hard to rebuild a backline after much of that unit graduated in the spring. But Head Coach Rick Medina has gone back to the basics and made sure he can fold in a new cadre of players. It’s working.
It's a competitive field in Rugby Texas this year and this past weekend's results change nothing about that.
Cy Fair won their second game in league play with a close victory over St. Pius X, while Katy also has that same 2-0 record against the same opponents, St. Pius X and St. Thomas. However, Katy was busy playing the Kansas City Junior Blues this week (a 40-24 loss).
The Woodlands defeated Strake Jesuit 63-12 Thursday evening in Rugby Texas league play to move to 3-0.
It was a solid game for the #4-ranked HS club. The Woodlands ran out to a 35-0 lead at halftime.
HS All American and Cal commit Tom Dixon started at No. 8 and scored five tries.
