GRR: Overseas Pros
It's been a bit of a quiet time for USA players in professional teams overseas, but we've seen some action.
EXETER, UK - USA Women’s National Team XVs players Gabby Cantorna, Jennine Duncan, and Kate Zackary have all accepted one-year contracts with the Exeter Chiefs, a new professional women’s team in the Tyrrell's Premier 15s League in England.
Pending visa approval, the trio will depart for England within the next few weeks to join the team for the 2020-21 Premier 15s season.
AJ MacGinty continues his strong run of form, but if you can't win your own lineout throws, it's pretty difficult to win a rugby game.
So went this weekend for the USA flyhalf as he kicked well, set up both Sale tries, and made a try-saving tackle-and-poach against Bath. But Sale's inability to turn attacking lineouts into anything but disaster meant Bath ended up winning 37-22.
It's a long weekend in the USA but American pro rugby players overseas have been relatively active, and strangely most of their teams were involved in nailbiter games.
After being on the bench twice in the last two weeks, AJ MacGinty led the Sale Sharks to a 20-11 victory in a midweek Gallagher Premiership clash vs Wasps.
