GRR: California Collegiate Conference
Every team in the California D1A has now won a game.
At the beginning of the season the inside info on the teams was that two rebuilding teams—Cal State Long Beach and San Diego State—would struggle. And they did, at first. But over the weeks these teams were the most likely to improve markedly, too.
We're seeing the top teams establish themselves in the CRAA D1AA competitions after this week's results.
Western Washington hasn't clinched the NCRC but they have gone a long way toward that goal.
UC Santa Barbara won two big games over the weekend, shutting out UC Davis 47-0 on Friday, and taking a 57-17 decision over Sacramento State two days later.
There are a few chases on in the California D1A Conference, and this weekend pointed out some of them.
American River, Cal Maritime, Claremont Colleges, and University of San Diego all won this weekend in the California D1AA Conference, but the fashion of those victories varied widely.
USD put down a bit of a marker with a 109-0 shutout of a very capable Fresno State team.
