CHICAGO — Arkansas State University defeated Notre Dame, 32-17, this weekend in men’s college rugby.
“Notre Dame is a very good team,” said A-State head coach Blake White. “Their players challenged us physically throughout the match, particularly with their big forwards. The first half was some of the best rugby we’ve played all year, but we just didn’t capitalize enough.”
JONESBORO – Arkansas State University’s rugby team kept its win streak alive by defeating Iowa Central Community College, 45-11, Saturday afternoon at Curt Huckaby Field. The Red Wolves now stand 5-0 overall, while ICCC drops to 2-4.
AUSTIN, TEXAS — Arkansas State University put on another scoring show to defeat Texas, 74-0, in collegiate rugby here Saturday. Freshman Louis Neal led with three tries, followed by two apiece from freshman Keagan Barrett and sophomore Tino Msasanure.
The victory puts the Red Wolves at 4-0 on the year and elevates their point output to 297-6 against their opponents.
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. —Arkansas State University’s men's rugby team used its depth to unleash firepower on both sides of the ball to defeat Alabama 51-6 in preseason action.
Arkansas State scored two tries in the second half to come from behind and defeat Clemson University 14-10 Saturday afternoon in the Mid-South Conference.
It was a tight game throughout, and was a tough oss for the Tigers, who fielded ten players under the age of 20.
