DIA Playoffs - Our Take
It’s a quick turnaround from the regular season to the DIA playoffs, but the first round is indeed upon us this coming weekend.
Eight teams enter the playoffs from all over the country, and all with some significant game-hardening behind them. Here’s a look:
Indiana Impresses in Win Once More
The University of Indiana pulled off yet another very impressive result, beating Wheeling Jesuit 44-17 Saturday in Lockland, Ohio.
Wheeling Jesuit to Add Women's Varsity Rugby
WHEELING, WV. – Wheelng Jesuit University will be adding Women’s Varsity Rugby beginning in the fall 2016 semester.
The WJU women’s program will begin a national search for a women’s head coach to oversee this groundbreaking effort.
Wheeling Jesuit Edges Delaware
Wheeling Jesuit defeated Delaware 29-20 Friday night in a non-conference game for both.
It was a good day for WJU, which started with three tries in the first 20 minutes.
“We’ve had an issue with slow starts so it was good get started the way we did,” said WJU Head Coach Tal Bayer. “The guys did a good job after a six-and-a-half-hour bus ride.”
Rugby East Wrap - Army Top
Penn State moved to 2-0 in the Rugby East with a tough 38-33 victory over Wheeling Jesuit Saturday.
WJU dropped to 1-1.
“PSU punished us for our mistakes,” said WJU head Coach Tal Bayer. “I am proud of our effort on the day. Our boys pushed until the end, scoring four tries. It looked like we might pull it out.”
