Iona Shocks Siena in Liberty Nailbiter
In a somewhat surprising result Iona logged their first conference victory of the season, holding off Siena 30-29 on Alumni Weekend at Iona.
The day was also the day for announcing inductions into the Iona Rugby Hall of Fame, and that was a big event in and of itself. However, Iona still came into the game underdogs.
Siena Defeats Iona in High-Scoring Midweek Matchup
Siena defeated Iona Wednesday night in a make-up of a game that was canceled due to lightning back in September.
Iona went into the game 3-1 with Siena at 4-0.
Siena's offense was firing and they ran out to a 41-21 lead at halftime.
The team teams each scored two tries in the second half to cap it off, but in the end Siena won in a big-scoring game 55-33.

Big doings in the Liberty Conference as league-leaders Fairfield were upended by Iona in the NCR D1 conference.
The 24-16 victory put Iona at 1-0 and dropped Fairfield to 3-1 and opened things up in the conference.
Chamionship Day For Iona, Northeastern
Iona and Northeastern clash for the Liberty Conference title Saturday.
Both teams have showed off impressive offenses and can claim to have dominated their division. At the same time, they've been humbled, as well. Iona shipped over 50 to Indiana; Northeastern did the same with Dartmouth.
So there's still stuff to work on.
