Who Is Making an Impact in Fall HS Sevens?
We're taking a quick look around the Boys HS 7s scene this fall.
As fans know, different regions address 7s differently. Some play 7s somewhat recreationally, some have a very defined season with a championship at the end, and some don't play at all.
Here's a look at what we can tell you.
National School Champs Wrap It Up With State Title
St. Ignatius capped off an outstanding season for the Cleveland school program with two state final championships.
Brunswick Switches it Up to Win Ohio Girls Final
The Brunswick Valkyries came back twice to beat St. Joseph's Academy to win the Rugby Ohio girls state championship.
In a game that saw plenty of momentum shifts, Brunswick adjusted their normal pattern of play to handle what the Jaguars threw at them.
State Finals on Saturday
We have a few additional state champions this week.
Marquette won a close one 21-17 over the Pulaski Roos to take the Wisconsin title.
New Trier rode the momentum that saw them get to the final of Tier II of the HS National Championships, beating Naperville 66-5 to take the Illinois HS Club title.
More State Playoffs This Weekend
More state finals are coming up but we also have state winners this week. Pendleton wrapped up what turned out to be a very solid season with a 34-12 win over Mudsock to take Indiana’s D1.
