Conference Titles Up for Grabs
There is one more weekend of play before several college conferences host their respective playoffs, but the fields are pretty clear. We talked about the Pacific Mountain conference (read more), but here are some playoff match-ups working out:
A First: Irvine Bests Long Beach
This weekend was an important one in Southern California, for both DI and DII women’s colleges, and a fantastic Friday night match initiated the action. Reigning DII conference champ Long Beach State proved vulnerable after a big loss to CSU Northridge, and Friday’s game against a solid UC Irvine was going to indicate just how vulnerable.
Women DII College Top 20: Feb. 26, 2015
Three months have passed since the last Women DII College Top 20 ranking, and that waiting period was necessary. Even though spring leagues began in January, a disconcerting amount of forfeits and cancelations – across all in-season leagues – stunted the judgment process.
Updated College Standings
Below are the updated standings for active DI and DII women's college conferences. There were a slew of forfeits, postponements and cancelations last weekend, so there wasn't too much movement in any league. One important update occurred in Southern California, as CSU Fullerton was removed from the standings, as were the forfeit wins it afforded league mates.
