Well that settles that. If there was any question as to whether Central Washington is the strongest DI women’s college in the Pacific Northwest, then it was answered last weekend. Washington State, the reigning Pacific Mountain North champion, traveled to Ellensburg for the teams’ first official meeting and returned to Pullman with a 41-5 loss.
WSU First to Fall to Central
It appears that Mel Denham is working her magic, again. The new head coach took Central Washington to Pullman, Wash., this weekend for the Wildcats’ first run-out of the season. Although a pre-season friendly, CWU impressed in its 41-8 win over Washington State, the region’s top DI team.

Mel Denham to Coach CWU
ELLENSBURG, Wash. — Following a nationwide search, Mel Denham has been hired as the new women's rugby head coach at Central Washington University.
Denham, who has served as the head women's rugby coach at American International College (AIC) in Springfield, Massachusetts since 2012, will assume her new post on next month.
