GRR: Bowling Green
In a wildly entertaining and tense Mid American Conference final, Bowling Green came back from 20 points down to defeat the Louisville Cardinals 34-33 and win the conference championship.
These teams have played twice this season, both Bowling Green victories, and both by a single point. The earlier match ended up 28-27 for the Falcons.
Bowling Green held on to beat Louisville 28-27 in the meeting between the top two teams in the Mid-American Conference DIAA league.
The Falcons ran out to a 21-10 halftime lead thanks to two tries by hooker Ben Young and one by fullback Joe Romshe. Center Joey Apel hit a penalty goal and wing Owen Slimmer landed a rare drop goal.
Bowling Green, Ohio, and Louisville all emerged victorious in the opening weekend of action in the Mid American Conference.
Ohio beat Dayton 41-12, while Louisville won big over Pitt 65-5.
Bowling Green also won fairly convincingly 38-5, although Cincinnati put together some solid periods of play and perhaps were a little unlucky not to score more.

The Falcons led comfortably through much of the game, holding a 28-5 advantage until late in the game. Co-captain and No. 8 Phil Tracey scored three tries on the day, while Griffin Wilson added another and Joey Apel converted all four.
University of Notre Dame defeated Bowling Green 29-7.
This game was played as the Parseghian Cup match Friday night at Notre Dame raising money for the Ara Parseghian Medical Research Fund.
