Texas HS club rivals West Houston and Woodlands faced off over the weekend in the clash of what appears to be the strongest two club teams in the state.
Woodlands Downs Touring Rainier Highlanders
Woodlands beat the touring Rainier Highlanders out of Washington state 61-0 Friday night.
The Texas hosts had to work for it and were quick to take the points option on penalties. An early penalty was put over by Woodlands flyhalf Devon Smith for a 3-0 lead, and Smith would add two more in the first half.
Woodlands, Blues, Aztecas Clash in Houston
Woodlands Rugby hosted the Kansas City Jr. Blues and the Mexico City Aztecas this weekend, as two teams going to the National Championships sought some challenging warmup competition.
In the end, both Woodlands and KC won their games against the Aztecas, and Woodlands, ranked #4 by GRR, also defeated #23-ranked Kansas City.
