GRR: South Florida
Already on tenterhooks for the Florida DIAA slate of games? Us too.
Why? Well there's a good chance that this league will be in doubt for some time, at least judging by the closeness of the first week of games (31-20, 28-20, 27-26). With battles like that this could be the New Chesapeake.
Florida Atlantic moved to 6-0 in the Florida DIAA Conference with a 27-12 defeat of Florida International. Spencer Gray’s goalkicking was a key part of FAU’s charge, as he picked them up after a slow start with two key penalty goals in the second half, and 12 points in total.
It's all happening in South Florida, as USF put together another dominating performance this week.
Central Florida eked out a tight win over Florida International to get the Knights' first victory of the Florida DIAA league season.
Meanwhile, South Florida, Florida State, and Florida Atlantic all improved to 2-0, as they, along with 1-1 North Florida and Central Florida, look to be the stronger teams in the competition.
The South Independent Rugby Conference’s North Division probably comes down to this weekend.
At least, who will be 1st in the division comes down to this weekend, as Middle Tennessee State hosts Kennesaw State. MTSU is 6-0, while KSU is 4-1. If MTSU loses, they aren’t really out of the picture for 1st, but if they win, then it’s pretty much game over.
