GRR: Minnesota Youth Rugby
Undefeated Minnetonka faces undefeated Albert Lea in a key Minnesota Youth Rugby game Wednesday night, a game that could go a long way to deciding who is tops in the state, and who might finally get a look at the rankings.
Edina defeated Eagan 22-17 to win the Minnesota Youth Rugby Boys HS title this past weekend.
After running through the season undefeated, Edina was the favorite here, but, as head coach Chris Babiash said, "you always hear the cliché that beating a team three times is a tough task."
And that's how it ended up.

After a regular Minnesota Youth Rugby season where Eagan seemed to be in control, Edina emerged as state champs with a 22-10 defeat of Eagan in the MYR playoffs this past weekend.
Eagan HS is the #1 seed going into the Minnesota playoffs.
After defeating Mounds View 55-0 over the weekend, Eagan topped the Minnesota DI league with 30 points, just ahead of Edina, which beat Minnetonka 27-14 over the weekend, but failed to get the four-try bonus points.
Eagan's JV team also took the #1 seed to the playoffs.
