Arizona looked very impressive in defeating LSU 30-10 Saturday in the DIA playoffs.
The Wildcats, playing on the road in Baton Rouge, La., spread the ball nicely and enjoyed an excellent game from flyhalf Kyle Rogers.
It’s a quick turnaround from the regular season to the DIA playoffs, but the first round is indeed upon us this coming weekend.
Eight teams enter the playoffs from all over the country, and all with some significant game-hardening behind them. Here’s a look:
LSU just barely got by Texas A&M Saturday to remain undefeated in the Red River Conference in DIA rugby.
LSU seems poised to win the Red River Conference and vault into the DIA playoffs.
All the Tigers need to do is run the rest of the conference table, which includes Texas A&M this weekend, and Baylor April 2. But since LSU has already defeated Oklahoma, the Tigers are expected to continue to win.
LSU is in an excellent position to win the Red River Conference after beating previously undefeated Oklahoma 43-12 Saturday.
The Tigers broke open a fairly close game just before halftime with a try from prop Christian Brower that, with fullback Alec Miller’s conversion, made it 22-7.
