GRR: Life University
A late penalty goal from flyhalf Bradley Crane saw Life University edged Navy in Annapolis Saturday in a game between two of the top teams in Rugby East.
The Rugby East conference title may well be decided this coming weekend.
Both Life University and the US Naval Academy are 4-0, and they play each other in Annapolis on Saturday.
These are teams that have been winning, and in fact winning well, for the most part. Not that it's been perfect.
Life University survived a bit of a scare Saturday at Mount St. Mary's, with the Running Eagles scoring late to take home a 20-19 victory.
And yes it was a loss for MSM, but still a very good outing by The Mount and more notice that the Rugby East is closing up.
Navy advances to the D1A final for the second year in a row after the Midshipmen defeated Life University 27-17.
On a day of perfect weather and only a light breeze, the day centered around kicking, goalline defenses, and some key big players.
Life is at Navy for the D1A Eastern semifinal and these two teams have already met; in fact, that original meeting was a big deal.
Navy won that game, and the scoreline, 20-14, was one of their closest games of the season.
