GRR: Life University
Life University won the Women’s D1A (then called D1 Elite) final last year by a try, and the rematch of the two finalists was again close this week.
Life won again, this time 29-24, in a game that was almost tied (or fell Lindenwood’s way) with a potential game-tying try lost forward at the tryline.
North Carolina and Life University opened up the first season of the East Coast Development XVs Cup, with Life’s 2nd side beating UNC 83-22 on the weekend.
A late penalty goal from flyhalf Bradley Crane saw Life University edged Navy in Annapolis Saturday in a game between two of the top teams in Rugby East.
The Rugby East conference title may well be decided this coming weekend.
Both Life University and the US Naval Academy are 4-0, and they play each other in Annapolis on Saturday.
These are teams that have been winning, and in fact winning well, for the most part. Not that it's been perfect.
Life University survived a bit of a scare Saturday at Mount St. Mary's, with the Running Eagles scoring late to take home a 20-19 victory.
And yes it was a loss for MSM, but still a very good outing by The Mount and more notice that the Rugby East is closing up.
