In a really competitive Midwest All-Star Challenge Girls bracket, all-star teams from Michigan, Indiana, and Ohio met up.

The teams played each other once at the Moose Rugby Grounds in Elkhart, Ind., and the three games were all close, with two of the contests being decided by less than a try.

The Ohio Celts swept both games in the Boys Midwest All-Star Challenge, a three-team warmup for later Regional Cup Tournaments.

Playing at the Moose Rugby Grounds in Elkhart, Ind., Ohio defeated Illinois 57-0, and then came back from a 17-0 deficit to beat Indiana 24-17.

The Midwest Challenge Cup is set for two weeks from now, but teams are warming up with two tournament this coming weekend.

In Elkhart, Ind. at the Moose Rugby Grounds, three Boys Varsity teams, three Boys JV teams, and three Girls Varsity teams will face off.

USA Rugby’s regulations surrounding the Regional Cup all-star tournaments have elicited a little bit of pushback from some regions.

The regulations include a rule that Varsity all-star teams can only feature players in 11th and 12th grade. Junior Varsity teams can only feature players in 9th and 10th grade.
