GRR: Girls HSAA
LAFAYETTE, CO. – The USA Girls’ and Boys’ U18 7s programs will compete in the USA Futures 7s competition during the 45th annual CAN-AM Rugby Tournament at Saranac Lake Placid July 27-29. Taking place in the host region of two Olympic Winter Games (1932 & 1980) and a U.S.
The Girls HS All Americans, powered by Atavus, fell to Canada's Maple Leafs U18s in the final of the Tropical 7s International Youth Sevens Saturday in Orlando, Fla.
The HSAA team played in a small but competitive Girls u18 bracket with Canada, The Fort Lauderdale Ruckus Riptide, Indiana River, KIngwood, and the Riptide's 2nd team.
The Girls HS All Americans powered by Atavus went 3-0 in ay One of the Girls European U18 7s Championships, beating Ireland, Russia, and Germany to win Pool C in Vichy, France.
The GHSAA team beat Germany 29-5, Ireland 33-5, and Russia 40-0 to make the quarterfinals.
In the QFs, the Americans will take on Wales, which finished 2nd behind Spain in Pool B.
The USA Rugby Girls HS All Americans Powered by Atavus are in Vichy, France to play in the Rugby Europe Women's U18 7s Championships starting Saturday.
The USA is one of only two non-European team in the 16-country competition. the other is Canada. The Atavus GHSAAs are in Pool C with German, Ireland, and Russia.
Mount Saint Mary's University in Emmitsburg, Md. hosted the Girls HS All Americans U18s and U16s as they faced off with the Quebec U18s and U16s.
It was a very successful assembly for the HS All Americans, as they won all four of the games, but it was also successful in terms of what MSM was able to provide the players, and the experience for the players.
