University of North Texas pulled off a bit of an upset in the Red River with a 31-19 defeat of Baylor on Saturday, bumping UNT to a 3-1 record in the conference.
Cal rode a strong second half to beat UCLA in the PAC Rugby Conference opener, and the Golden Bears followed that up with a defeat of NSCRO team Cal Maritime.
UCLA battled and held Cal to a 12-0 lead at halftime, before the Bears opened up to win 59-7.
Lindenwood chalked up a key conference victory Saturday, beating Arkansas State 38-20 in a non-league Mid-South game.
The Arizona Wildcats got back on winning ways with a 25-13 defeat of Grand Canyon University at GCU.
This was a non-conference crossover game for both teams, but has important rankings ramifications. With Arizona having lost at home to Central Washington last week they were looking to rebound, and they did.
