The Eagle Impact Rugby Academy U17s completed a two-game sweep of the British Columbia U17s with a 38-7 defeat of their hosts Saturday at the campus of the University of British Columbia.
EIRA U17s beat BC U17s 58-17 on Wednesday in a game that was impressive in terms of their ball movement, but also featured a couple of BC scores the tourists would have liked back.
On the Thursday morning after sweeping the BC select sides, the HS All Americans and Eagle Impact Rugby Academy players went down to the beach near the University of British Columbia’s Museum of Anthropology.
On a weekend of drama in HS state championships, Southern California chimed in with one of their own.
In a dramatic, back-and-forth contest, Back Bay took the Southern California Boys HS club title 25-24 over the Coastal Dragons.
“It was a great game to watch I am sure, but not so great for the coaching staffs,” said Back Bay Coach Jeff Bonnett.
Upsets continue around the country in Boys HS rugby, with Southern California no exception.
The Coastal Dragons put the San Diego Mustangs to the sword 34-22 this weekend.
