From World Rugby—South Africa will host Rugby World Cup Sevens 2022 after the World Rugby Council awarded the hosting rights for the premier tournament to South Africa at its Interim Meeting in Tokyo today.

The first leg of Fall HS Sevens in the Mid-Atlantic Region was completed this past weekend at Gosling Park in Glenn Dale, Md.,  home of Wild Geese Old Boys Rugby club.  

The event was hosted by the Mid-Atlantic Rugby Foundation and Hope for South Africa, a charity that works to prevent the effects of Fetal Alcohol Syndrome in that country.

Pelham HS hosted the first leg of the five-event Rugby NY Fall 7s Series this past Sunday, with three brackets.

Hosts Pelham HS took the Boys Varsity bracket, going 3-0. There was no playoff as severe weather halted play early. But Pelham was the only team to go 3-0 on the day. Play Rugby finished 2-0-1, winning two games and also getting a tie, to top their pool.

College sevens hasn't become massive in the fall, but it has its moments, and this weekend is one of them.

The West Coast 7s, PAC 7s, Boise State 7s, and recently-completed Red River 7s are all part of the fall calendar, and this weekend the West Coast 7s reigns.

Rugby Indiana held its HS 7s this past weekend, crowning champions in Boys and Girls brackets.

In the Boys bracket, the Fishers-HSE team beat Noblesville 19-15 in the final.

Two Kentucky teams faced off in the final of the consolation bracket, with St. Xavier HS beating Bluegrass 31-14.
